Good scientific practice

Our institute prioritizes adherence to high scientific standards. Honesty and good scientific practice are essential for expanding knowledge and earning public respect. The Max Planck Society has established basic rules to ensure good scientific practice and address misconduct, see the attached PDF below (German and English). These rules follow the recommendations from the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and apply to all researchers within the Max Planck Society.

The scientific staff of every institute elects an ombudsperson, who serves as an arbiter for all cases of scientific misconduct and conflicts arising from them. Our ombudsperson is Christian Blohmann. If you witness scientific misconduct or seek help in a conflict related to your scientific work, you are encouraged to contact him. All communication is treated with strict confidentiality.
